What is Camp John Hope FFA-FCCLA Center?
Camp John Hope FFA-FCCLA Center is an educational camp facility designed with the purpose of providing the youth of Georgia with a site for leadership and career development. Started in 1937 as a camp for young men of color, it has evolved into a premier camp facility and conference center for the FFA and FCCLA Organizations, as well as many other youth and adult organizations.
Camp John Hope FFA-FCCLA Center is one of two FFA-FCCLA Centers in Georgia, and one of several FFA Centers throughout the nation. See our Links page for links to the other camps.
What is the facility used for?
Our primary purpose is for FFA and FCCLA. We host programs throughout the year specifically for these organizations. We also have Ropes Course programs that are open to all youth.
In addition to the programs we host, we also rent out facilities to organizations.
Who can rent facilities at Camp John Hope FFA-FCCLA Center?
Any organization with an educational purpose is welcome to use our facility! Our priority groups are the FFA and FCCLA organizations and the Georgia Department of Education, but all types of groups have utilized our facilities.

Are There General Rules for Camp?
Camp John Hope is a Facility of the Georgia Department of Education, Official Code of Georgia 16-11-127.1. Therefore, no drugs, weapons, or alcohol are allowed on Campus. Our 'Quiet Hours' are from 10p.m. unitl 6a.m.
Where is Camp John Hope FFA-FCCLA Center?
The Center is located on Camp John Hope Road, between Fort Valley and Perry. It is 8 miles from Exit 135 off I-75. It is located 30 minutes South of downtown Macon and an hour forty five minutes South of Atlanta.

What does FFA and FCCLA stand for?
FFA was formerly known as Future Farmers of America. In 1988, delegates to the national FFA convention changed “Future Farmers of America” to the “National FFA Organization” to recognize the growth of agriculture and agricultural education to encompass the more than 300 careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture.
FCCLA was formerly known as FHA, Future Homemakers of America. In 1999, Future Homemakers of America was changed to Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America at the National Leadership Conference in Boston, MA.
